Do you have someone who prescribes medication?

Yes, we have a Psychiatrist who is at the clinic twice per month.

What if I don’t have a mental illness can I still receive therapy?

Yes, we are here to serve anyone who feels they want or need therapy for any reason. However, if billing insurance a DSM-5 diagnosis is required.

If you do not wish to use insurance please inform us prior to first session to talk about payment options.

If I don’t go the full hour will I be charged for the full hour?

No, you will be billed according to the time you were seen. If session are regularly ending early future sessions will be scheduled accordingly.

How long does a therapy session last?

Most sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, unless otherwise discussed. Most insurance companies require therapy sessions be billed in 15-minute increments, up to 60 minutes.

First sessions are always scheduled for 60 minutes due to the information needed to build rapport and a working framework to best assist the client.

If a client is self-paying nearly any time frame and payment thereof can be made.

Who do I call after hours or during a crisis?

If you are experiencing a crisis please call 911 or your local crisis hotline. Surdy Family Services does not have an on-call or a crisis response team at this time.
